The Role



The Sales Rep Trainee is responsible for learning how to build effective relationships with assigned Advisors, Registered Representatives, Brokers, &/or Plan Sponsor/Participants. In an apprentice-like setting, this role will focus on developing skills for sales quoting, maintaining business relationships, and executing basic sales plans to potentially advance in his/her career to the Sales Representative level in an assigned territory.




  • Attends product training sessions.
  • Attends training to become competent in enrollments, sales quoting, sold cases, and renewal objectives.
  • Learns the back office sales support tools and processes for achieving sales goals.
  • Learns to build and maintain positive relationships with home office service teams, financial advisors, brokers, Registered Representatives, and key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Shadows Lincoln sales representatives on site visits.


Education & Experience

  • 1 - 3+ Years of sales experience.(Required)
  • 4 Year/Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors) (Minimum Required)



  • Upon Hire Certifications/Licensures : Licenses dependent upon product being supported with specified time frame.

  • Travel Type :Regional Domestic
  • Travel Amount :up to 50%
