The Role

Thisposition will provide our distribution partners with focused resources that will help drive the sales forecasting as well as the sales planning process. They will provide insights into the sales environment throughout the year so senior leadership can make well informed decisions to execute on their strategy. They willlead the annual sales planning process, quarterly sales forecasting process and ensure sales leaders are provided with the sales data and analysis necessary to make strategic sales decisions.

Critical Success Factors

  • Designs, implements, and manages sales forecasting and planning processes for all of Lincoln Financial Distributors; Annuities, Life and Moneyguard.

  • Provides leadership to the sales organization, and counsel to the Senior Vice Presidents, in implementing sales organization objectives that appropriately reflect the organizations business goals.

  • Establishes high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the sales planning process, forecasting, and budgeting approaches used by the sales organization.

  • Ensures sales reports and other internal intelligence is provided to the sales organization. Develops new reporting tools as needed. Coordinates with sales leadership and other stakeholders to lead efficient and accurate sales force reporting initiatives.


  • Builds relationships with key stakeholders to make sure the sales data is correct and is delivered in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with senior sales leaders and key stakeholders to develop the sales plans.
  • Responsible for working with Sales Team to forecast.
  • Directs the evaluation and analysis of monthly internal sales results and trends.
  • Leads the analysis on industry sales data to provide strategic guidance to senior sales leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Leads the annual sales planning process and ensures the sales plan decisions coincide with the corporate planning calendar.
  • Leads the monthly sales forecasting process and provides analysis & recommendations to key stakeholders to make strategic sales decisions.

Education & Experience

  • 10+ Years in Strategic Planning or Financial Analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position, and/or demonstrated leadership experience including influencing senior management/critical stakeholders.(Required)
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)
