The Role

The Junior Analyst, Funds Management is responsible for collaborating and providing direction to financial advisors and wholesalers on investment related matters. This is a consultative phone based position responding to financial advisors and wholesalers received via inbound calls. You will be responsible for answering questions in a variety as they relate to our Variable Annuities Portfolio. Other responsibilities include developing communications and providing analytical support in all aspects of client portfolio management.


  • Develops institutional-level portfolio analysis and content to inform key stakeholders about Funds Management offerings.
  • Responds to investment queries as subject matter expert, resolves issues and elevates the most complex issues to appropriate senior stakeholders.
  • Develops and prepares Fund Management investment communications including but not limited to performance reports, memorandums, and to communicate the view of Fund Management across the enterprise.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to create investment-related marketing collateral that supports consistent core messaging.
  • Assesses trends related to complex investment performance to pro-actively anticipate relevant issues and concerns of stakeholders.
  • Provides analytical support and guidance related to Portfolio Management and investment reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Seeks to improve performance reporting through the development of new report formats and investment dashboards.
  • Develops, updates, and maintains a centralized investment information portal.
  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) or responsibility, assess the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.


  • Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 required


  • 1-3 years of experience in Investments, Portfolio Analysis or Investment Research that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.
  • Ability to communicate complex investment topics.
  • Ability to create technical documents, presentations, and communications (memos, fact sheets, collateral materials) to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of investment research/analytic tools (i.e. Morningstar Direct)
  • Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution.
  • Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among senior management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.
  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
