Senior Security Engineer

Protect and secure Gallup's world-class data and systems.

As a senior security engineer at Gallup, your job is to keep Gallup's network safe. From testing and monitoring, to assessing and auditing, we'll depend on your attention to detail, strategic thinking and expertise in technology security to keep our data secure today and mitigate risks in the future. Acting as a consultant to other internal teams, you'll work collaboratively with systems administrators, database administrators and software architects to make suggestions and provide recommendations on security enhancements.

At Gallup, you'll work within multiple disciples of security on the latest cutting-edge platforms and technology. Every day may look different, but the objective is always the same - to protect Gallup's systems and data.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Pen testing/Ethical hacking, network/system forensics, security auditing and security architecture.
  • Continuous monitoring of cloud, network, systems, databases and applications using SIEM tools.
  • Assisting in troubleshooting and solving a wide variety of security issues.
  • Serving as security advisor for application and systems team.
  • Using Python, Bash, Powershell to automate testing and monitoring tasks.
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, including SOC2 Type 2 and ISO27001 requirements.

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Information Assurance or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in cybersecurity field.
  • Strong knowledge of network web/mobile application penetration testing and ethical hacking.
  • Strong knowledge of various operating systems, databases, cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and coding standards.
  • Technical hands on experience with security systems such as IDS's, Firewalls, SIEM's, Forensic/Pen testing Systems (Kali, SIFT).
  • Scripting and Coding experience with Python, Powershell and/or Bash.
