It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work remotely 100% of the time and will share a hoteling workspace if/when working onsite, as determined by business needs. Summary of the Job:


First National Bank is currently seeking an exceptional Senior Developer to join our Digital Document Management and Workflow Delivery Team. Successful candidate will be well skilled in the design of business functions, applications, information and infrastructure architectures, coding, testing and debugging.

About This Role:


You work independently and in collaboration with delivery team, stakeholders and vendors to implement new features, patch/upgrade applications, mitigate risks, eliminate technical debt, and ensure our systems are running efficiently.  You have experience implementing dev ops techniques including CI / CD and test automation, are familiar with modern development practices and principles as well as, cloud-hosted infrastructure. Ideal candidate values working in an Agile environment as part of a high performing, collaborative team. You are a natural communicator, transparent and adaptable with a high degree of technical aptitude. You are customer focused, learning orientated and above all else, like to dig in and help where needed.


  • Build and maintain systems with current and emerging technologies while leveraging and expanding system capabilities.
  • Provide creative solutions to cross platform technical problems.
  • Partner with customers to establish requirements and close identified gaps.
  • Provide strong problem-solving skills, methodology and approach and review problems by using experience, analytical skills and creative thinking to develop solutions.
  • Lead and/or participate in structured walkthroughs, technical reviews, strategic planning and roadmapping efforts.
  • Create documentation, flowcharts, diagrams, layouts, and charts to demonstrate sound solutions.
  • Provide onsite and offsite support for the processing cycles of production systems.
  • Some evening and/or weekend work required to support production deployments, critical incidents, or critical projects.
  • Support the Delivery Lead in adhering to Agile Scrum best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and debug software and hardware problems across the application portfolio.
  • Manage and maintain application and software lifecycle.
  • Ensure critical applications are optimized for high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Works efficiently on several initiatives and projects at once.

Experience & Skills:

  • Systems and application development including design, development, execution, and support
  • Experience in IBM FileNetP8 Technologies (Enterprise Content Management, IBM Content Manager, Business Process Manager)
  • Experience implementing custom java code using Content and Process Engine API's
  • Hands on experience in developing web applications using Java, Spring, Spring Boot and Struts
  • Experience in front end languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience with REST and SOAP services.
  • Experience working with RDBMS such as SQL Server
  • Experience in installing/upgrading software on Windows and Linux platforms
  • Experience in administer, install/upgrade, deploy and configure web applications on Application servers like Web sphere, IIS
  • Working knowledge of Test-Driven and Behavior-Driven Development
  • Ability to write quality unit, functional and automated tests

Preferred, but not required:

  • AWS or Cloud experience
  • Knowledge or experience with CMOD (Content Manager on Demand)
  • Banking/Financial Services Industry experience

Education & Background

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computers Science, MIS, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 7 years development experience
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of FileNetP8 experience
  • Minimum 5 years of Java development experience
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and tools
