Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Create and lead the strategy and implementation of customer acquisition and engagement to create relationship growth through checking accounts

  • Identifies strategic focus areas that provide acquisition benefits to the bank 
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders throughout the Consumer Banking Group to understand bank and customer needs in order to develop marketing plans and improve current processes to drive increased business.  This includes collaboration with local market teams to build best local market acquisition strategies in addition to enterprise level efforts.
  • Understand the competitive landscape and current offers within each market to help develop, design and provide recommendations for existing customer marketing strategies.
  • Oversee entire acquisition marketing from inception of the strategy, to coordination with the Creative Team, Marketing Operations for delivery/execution, Legal, Compliance, Analytics and business partners, to results presentations. 
  • Manage acquisition costs to most effective/competitive levels. Ensure acquisition budget is on target. 

Create and lead the strategy and implementation of new customer engagement efforts to create relationship growth.  

  • Customer Engagement Strategy includes welcome, early adoption, education, loyalty and ongoing communication efforts.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders throughout the Consumer Banking Group to understand bank and customer needs in order to develop marketing plans and improve current processes to drive increased business. 
  • Understand the competitive landscape and current offers within each market to help develop, design and provide recommendations for existing customer marketing strategies.
  • Manage new customer tactical cost to most effective/competitive levels. Ensure budget is on target. 

Assist in defining the go-to-market strategy, positioning, customer experience requirements and identifying target customers.

  • Utilize analytics information to improve marketing plan efforts through understanding customers, markets, channels and products.
  • Influence key stakeholders through logic, persuasion, inspiration, analytics and financial justification.

Continuous Improvement: Provide input to Manager to enhance work group/team effectiveness.

  • Identify and recommend opportunities and provide input on the enhancement of policy and procedure.

Cross Functional Working Relationships (CFWR): Work collaboratively with peers and management to maintain Service Level Agreements with all assigned CFWR.

  • Consult with strategic partners and understand the banks key business needs. 
  • Collaborate with other team members, marketing, business partners and sales teams to identify, define and validate marketing plan strategy, results, and integration touch-points.

Compliance: Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties.

  • Complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls, as required.
  • Report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations.
  • Report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.
  • If applicable, ensure direct reports meet the above requirements and take action to address employee performance issues.

Professionalism/Attendance: Exhibit professional behavior and promote positive working relationships. Maintain regular and predictable attendance in alignment with departmental/divisional policy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • If no Bachelor's degree obtained, can accept equivalent (four [4] years) of brand marketing, product marketing, direct marketing, or marketing program management experience, in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in brand marketing, product marketing, direct marketing, or marketing program management required

Additional Qualifications:

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Knowledge and experience of the financial services industry
  • Customer campaign/management experience
  • Demonstrated experience prioritizing and handling multiple projects
  • Knowledge of enterprise marketing and sales processes.
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Strong communication and project coordination skills, with an ability to work effectively with Sales and Business Development to lead and execute on a wide variety of product marketing initiatives.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and execution skills
  • Capable of strategic thinking and moving strategic plans into action
  • Successful budget management experience managing $500K -  $1MM in marketing promotional costs
  • Passion for serving and understanding customers
  • Full of traditional and non-traditional marketing tactics and creative ideas
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • Incredibly creative marketing and communication skills
  • Analytical skills to determine marketing effectiveness and ROI of customer efforts.
  • Strategic thinker that can see beyond the day-to-day grind to help reach marketing and sales goals, create a stronger brand, and improve the customer experience
  • Organization and ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects
