The Software Engineer is responsible for a variety of tasks including the design and implementation of System Automation, Self Service Customer Solutions and System Monitoring. We are looking for someone with strong technical expertise in configuration management and is at ease in an agile environment.

As a member of this team, you will engage with other teams from the internal support functions and external customer teams to help create automated pipelines and solutions required for continuous delivery utilizing agile methodologies. The tools and use-cases are diverse, and one of our challenges is to increase the velocity of system deployment by optimizing various parts of the pipeline. We are looking for engineers who are passionate about test and performance automation, infrastructure as code and automation of virtual infrastructure, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:

Continual improvement of the capability and accuracy of individual / stack monitors
Creation of management-information / reporting / dashboards
Work with platform architects on software and system optimizations, helping to identify and remove potential performance bottlenecks
Share and develop subject-matter-expert understanding in a specific area of the systems. Identify options and methods to improve the value of the tools for that area across the organization
Stay up-to-date on relevant technologies, plug into user groups, understand trends and opportunities to ensure we are using the best possible techniques and tools
Understand, implement, and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation
Analyze, design, as well as develop tests and test cases
Design, manage, and maintain tools to automate operational processes
Work with the systems users to collect and identify the performance requirements, analyze the technical feasibility and recommend the appropriate performance standards in the form of performance test requirement
Drive the effort to complete performance requirement specifications including production usage statistics, usage profiles, and transaction matrices
Develop and support Chef Cookbooks for software and OS configuration
Automation of IT processes such as:
Infrastructure provisioning and management
Application lifecycle packaging and deployment
Cloud tenant management
Capacity automation/rebalancing
Container orchestration such as Docker and Pivotal Cloud Foundry
Monitoring and alerting

Job Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

Ability to work in a collaborative environment
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Experience implementing and maintaining configuration management in production environments (Chef preferred)
Experience with Solarwinds/Orion is a plus
Experience with the following languages: VBS, PowerShell, Python (Django framework), Ruby
Experience with building automation technologies such as Maven and Jenkins
Experience with IT Infrastructure concepts and administration
Experience with working in a Software Development Life Cycle
Understanding of cloud/Rest APIs
Working Cloud knowledge on any of the following cloud platforms - AWS, Azure, and OpenStack a plus
Working knowledge with any popular UNIX shell (Bash, ksh, etc)
Working knowledge of Cassandra is a plus
