Job Description

The Information Technology Intern position is responsible for participation in a 12-week (40 hours/week) Intern Program with specific emphasis upon learning the primary responsibilities of various Information Technology positions. Interns will actively participate in the assigned group intern project. This position will receive an hourly wage of $21 per hour, plus a $500 starting bonus.


Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Gain understanding of tools, technology, resources and techniques used to create, implement, and support quality applications.
  • Opportunity for an in-depth experience to create or implement a technology solution in support of a business need or to support other technology teams with new technologies.
  • Assist with the development of applications using contemporary Microsoft technologies (C#, Visual Studio, SQL Server, SharePoint).
  • Participate in a highly team-oriented, leadership focused environment.
  • Complete special projects and tasks as assigned.

Additional functions of the position may include:

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Ideal candidates will be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information System (MIS), Data Management, Information Security, Computer Science, or related field. Candidates must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and completed their sophomore year by the start of the internship in May 2019. Characteristics of an ideal candidate include: self-motivated, fast learner, customer service orientated, team player, and active communicator.

Duties require:

  • Demonstrated competence in decision-making and problem solving.
  • Leadership and judgment to analyze, evaluate, and develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Provide sound technical advice to management and other staff in the subject field(s) related to this position.
  • Strong working knowledge of object oriented development and relational database techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and effectively demonstrate team building attitude and skills.
  • Proficient in Windows environment using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer.
  • Understanding of business concepts, including finance and accounting, beneficial but not required.


  • Ability to reason, judge, compare, calculate, evaluate and critique such information as written materials, numerical data, responses to customer needs and/or other work-related activities.
  • Ability to complete work in an acceptable timeframe and manage a variety of detailed tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and with accuracy to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives and satisfy internal and external customer needs related to the job.
  • Ability to operate telephone and respond to calls and in-person inquiries.
  • Ability to move about the office with occasional reaching and bending.
  • Ability to successfully interact with and represent the organization to staff, officers, board members, customers, and the public at all levels.
  • Ability to use a keyboard and computer. This involves reading the screen and keying/typing information.
  • Ability to travel by auto or commercial transportation to carry out essential responsibilities.
