Product Manager, E-Commerce

Job Description

DMSi is planning for the next phase of our e-commerce products and looking for an experienced Product Manager to work with internal and external stakeholders to develop a vision and strategy for the future success and growth of the e-commerce products.


  1. Develops and maintains product vision and strategy for the e-commerce product that aligns with business goals.
  2. Effectively communicates the product roadmap to management and stakeholders.
  3. Develops a deep understanding of customers through research, data analysis, customer interviews, and other techniques.
  4. Utilizes quantitative and qualitative data to recommend the nature and scope of present and future product features.
  5. Monitors market competition, e-commerce trends, and best practices.
  6. Obtains product market share by working with sales and marketing to develop product sales strategies.
  7. Manages feedback loops from customers, sales, customer service, executives, and other sources.
  8. Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing costs; estimating value.
  9. Responsible for the product in its entirety, including ideas, user adoption, and end of life for features no longer utilized.
  10. Works closely with development teams and designers to create outstanding products.
  11. Works closely with product owners to order development team backlogs and plan release schedules.
  12. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.

Knowledge of software development lifecycle, project management, and business analysis best/emerging practices

Cross-functional Skill Development – Product management will be the candidate’s main expertise, but product managers must be proactive about learning the skills and methods used across the various roles of the team. Ability to contribute to the teamwork to advance the highest priority work items for the team when their primary skill work is not available or needed.

Clear, effective communication skills – Must be comfortable and willing to openly discuss work items within a cross-functional team.

Normal office environment with the use of computers and telephone systems; no unusual physical demands.

Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Supply Chain Management, related field or 5+ years of software development experience within an enterprise-wide environment.

Experience in development of e-commerce platforms with a B2B focus preferred.

Experience with ERP platforms preferred.

Strong background in software design lifecycle, project management, and business analysis best practices.
