Research Lab Technician

Performs basic or applied research of a limited scope, primarily using existing theories and methods. Assists in the interpretation and publication of results and grants. Assists in initiating, executing and completing the clinical research and experiments. Prepares and writes research papers, presentations, grant proposals, etc. Primary responsibility is ensuring that the research is complete. Performs a variety of tests requiring a high degree of proficiency. Evaluates experiment results using complex statistical and multivariate analysis.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in related field of Science required; educational background in biological sciences or related fields
2 + year of research lab experience; preferably in animal handling, tissue/cell culture and molecular biology experiments
Knowledge of Unix/Linux operation system, R or Python language and genomic data analysis is preferred
Strong ability to interpret data and to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues;
Strong work ethic, excellent written and communication skills, and the ability to work independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays depending upon research needs
