Creighton University’s Paramedicine Department invites applications for a 12-month, full time, non-tenure track Lab and Simulation Coordinator position. This is a grant funded position.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Supervision of the program’s assisting laboratory instructors and promoting safe use of all lab equipment and facilities by students, faculty, and staff.
  • Monitor the quality of medical instruction, supervision, and evaluation of students. The coordinator will develop ongoing laboratory instructor training including evaluating student performance, providing formative and summative feedback, and using various lab equipment.
  • Developing, managing, and maintaining a system capable of tracking the number of times each student performs in the lab, each of the competencies required.
  • Instruct Paramedicine students per program policies and procedures.
  • Coordinating all aspects of the Paramedicine program’s lab and simulated learning activities.
  • Day-to-day activities for this position include scheduling, lab setup, and managing lab equipment/supplies.
  • Instructional responsibilities will include facilitating lab task training, complex, integrated scenarios, and other classroom-facilitated teaching sessions.
  • Development and administration of psychomotor and scenario examinations that are valid and reliable is essential.
  • Depending on department needs, other responsibilities, assignments, and tasks may be added.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Must be Nationally Registered Paramedic and eligible for Nebraska paramedic licensure.
  • Bachelor’s degree and willingness to pursue completion of a master’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of patient care experience in an emergency or critical care environment, including field experience in the delivery of out-of-hospital emergency care
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an educator of health or medical related content.
  • Must possess or be eligible for licensure as a paramedic and EMS Instructor designation in the State of Nebraska. Current provider and instructor certifications in BCLS, ACLS, PALS, PEPP, AMLS, ITLS, and PHTLS preferred.
