The Lead Technologist (LT) is responsible and accountable for oversight and management over an assigned domain within Creighton’s Division of Information Technology (myIT).  The LT is expected to understand and participate in multiple support levels. Under limited supervision, provides technical support to faculty, staff, and students ranging from fundamental concepts, to subject matter expert level knowledge on appropriate topics. Mediates custom solution development between myIT and the partner to enhance academic technology services.   Will coordinate development of strategic plans and roadmaps to further develop services used by the customer.  Consults on and implements special tasks (tiers 2 and 3) as assigned by IT leadership. 

All tasks and outcomes are documented within a ticketing application. The LT works within an ITIL, metrics driven service operation environment. All work is guided by the published ITIL Service Operations Framework with a dedication to continual improvement
This specific role, the Lead Technologist for the Health Sciences position is part of the myIT organization and reports therein. The LTHS will support the Office of Medical Education (OME) curriculum team which is responsible for supporting, implementing and executing the medical education (MD degree) program.  This position is responsible for collaborating with OME to manage, track, and provide technical support for the School of Medicine’s (SoM) Mobile Device Program (MDP) – Apple technologies provided to students enrolled within the School of Medicine. 
The Lead Technologist for the Health Sciences is not exclusive to SoM and will also provide IT support to all health sciences (e.g., CoN, SPAHP and Dental, including other areas on campus where myIT support is needed) for students, faculty, and staff. The role is part of a team of technologists providing a defined level of service following documented processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent work experience.

• Master’s degree preferred

• Minimum of 4 years’ managing IT functions or supporting technology users

• Minimum of 1 year supervising technology service providers preferred.

• Higher education experience preferred.
