Creighton University is seeking to hire Research Laboratory Technician I or II.

Dr. Teitzs laboratory focuses on identifying and testing drugs for preventing hearing loss. We utilize a wide range of techniques including high-throughput cell-based screenings, ex-vivo cochlear explant cultures, molecular assays and animal models. We strive to develop drugs that will prevent hearing loss caused by cisplatin chemotherapy, noise and aging and in the process, improve our understanding of the molecular mechanisms governing cell death in the inner ear cells.

Under general supervision, provides a wide variety of laboratory testing and technical lab support for a research facility. Requires knowledge of the processes/procedures in testing, documenting experiments, maintaining laboratory notebook, analyzing data, and reporting using complex statistical computer software.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in related field of Science required; Associates may be considered

  • 2+ years research lab experience; 1 year may be considered

  • Understanding of research methods, laboratory techniques, and care of laboratory equipment

  • Ability to interpret data, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Must be Detail oriented and have Analytical skills

  • Strong work ethic, excellent written and communication skills, and the ability to work independently. 

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays depending upon research needs
