Under general supervision, provides a wide variety of laboratory testing and technical lab support for a research facility. Requires knowledge of the processes/procedures in testing, documenting experiments, maintaining laboratory notebook, analyzing data, and reporting using complex statistical computer software.
The successful/ideal candidate will assist in collecting the data required to determine how inflammation increases cochlear uptake of aminoglycosides, and the expression of immune signaling pathways. Prior experience in biochemical and multi-modal plate reader assays will be advantageous.
This position is 100% grant funded.
This position will work Monday to Friday; 8am-4:30pm, depending upon research needs position may require evening, weekend, and holiday work.
Associates degree in related field of Science required;
Bachelors Degree in related Science field preferred;
0-1 years research lab experience; prior experience in biochemical and multi-modal plate reader assays preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Understanding of research methods, laboratory techniques, and care of laboratory equipment;
Ability to interpret data, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook;
Strong communication skills (verbal and written);
Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team;
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays depending upon research needs
