Description

The Creighton University Department of Public Safety invites applications for the position of Associate Director-Identity Services. This position oversees the day-to-day operations of the Card Services office and JayBuck$ program, which facilitate retail purchases, dining plans, athletic and recreational facility use, and access to campus facilities.

As the Manager of the Genetec security system, the Associate Director works collaboratively with other University users and the vendor to monitor system performance, implement procedural changes, and plan future upgrades to the card access and video surveillance features of the system. The Associate Director will also identify future opportunities to integrate other security technologies into the system and work with the vendor to design and implement these enhancements.


As the primary contact for the JayBuck$ program, the Associate Director-Identity Services serves as the key liaison between Creighton University and US Bank, working closely with cardholders, University departments, suppliers, and vendors. This role collaborates with Student Life, Enrollment Management, University Dining Services, Business Services, Information Technology, University Libraries, and US Bank to achieve mutually desired outcomes. The ideal candidate should be familiar with local, state, and federal regulations and requirements related to stored data and services, as well as FERPA, HIPAA, Department of Education cash management rules, and others.

Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:
- Operate and train others on the employment of multiple information technology systems, including Genetec Security Center, Atrium, Banner Student Information System, and Infor point-of-sale systems
- Oversee the maintenance and expansion of the campus access control and video surveillance hardware and software systems
- Coordinate and operationalize building and room access policies with University leadership
- Facilitate the online deposit system and maintain financial reports and reconciliations in compliance with applicable laws and policies
- Interview, hire and evaluate employees
- Respond to requests for information
- Assist with campus registration and orientation events


The ideal candidate for this position is a motivated, detail-oriented self-starter with superior customer service skills. The selected person will have the ability to complete multiple projects in an organized and timely fashion using honed project management skills, techniques, and tools. Our preferred candidate will have two years minimum experience with the implementation and management of projects that involved the development of technical requirements and the deployment of technical systems. This final candidate will also have demonstrated leadership in the dynamic application of identity and access technology and the ability to learn state-of-the-art security technology related to campus transaction cards, access control, and video surveillance. Individual must be accomplished with all Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and will be able to quickly learn other software packages. A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or a related field is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with operational experience using Genetec, Banner, Atrium, Infor, and/or similar information systems, as well as to candidates with experience working in a higher education setting to enhance the student experience.

Please note, this role will have access/handling of finances and will require a credit check for final candidate.

This position will work Monday to Friday; normal business hours; depending upon university need position may require evening, weekend, and holiday work.

 


 

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or a related field; plus, 2 years minimum hands on experience with the implementation and management of projects that involved the development of technical requirements and the deployment of technical systems;
OR
4 to 6 years of operational hands on experience using Genetec, Banner, Atrium, Infor, and/or similar information systems within a higher education setting to enhance the student experience.
2+ supervisory years' experience;
High Proficiency skills in MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Progressive experience with operational systems such as: Genetec, Banner, Atrium, Infor, and/or similar information systems preferred;
Must be familiar with local, state, and federal regulations and requirements related to stored data and services, as well as FERPA, HIPAA, Department of Education cash management rules, and others;
Excellent written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
Strong collaborative/teamwork ability to motivate, and inspire staff at all levels of the organization;
Demonstrated experience with strategic thinking and planning;
