Job Description


Under the direction of the Director of Communications, the Senior Social Media Strategist is a social media expert responsible for planning, developing and implementing the University's overall social media strategy in order to support and enhance Creighton's online presence and overall digital marketing efforts. This position is responsible for defining the most important social media key performance indicators, measuring the success of social media campaigns, managing and overseeing social media content and working within a multidisciplinary team. Additionally, this position will offer best practices and governance of University social media to help achieve strategic goals. In this role you will identify audience demographics, analyze social trends, develop audience-specific content strategies, and monitor social media user engagement. As a brand ambassador, this position will work to integrate and promote the brand message, and ensure brand consistency, across Creighton's main social media channels. As a key member of the communications team, the Senior Social Media strategist must be proficient in editing and skilled at writing informative and compelling copy that promotes and advances Creighton University to its various audiences across all communication platforms. The Senior Social Media strategist will stay up to date with latest social media best practices and technologies, provide social media training and guidance, and develop analytical reports that help inform leadership decision-making.  In doing so, she/he will ensure marketing and communication activities are based on solid brand strategy, positioning/value proposition development, claims development and messaging.



Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications or related field is required; Minimum 4-6 years of experience in marketing with a proven ability to develop a comprehensive marketing plan and implement best in class brand marketing and communication activities. Experience leading and managing the work of others to meet deadlines.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to use data to drive strategy and monitor results. Knowledge and experience with both brand and direct marketing methods. Ability to consult and collaboratively work with a variety of subject matter experts and leaders across campus. Demonstrated exceptional verbal and written communications, strong business acumen, interpersonal skills and ability to be a persuasive presenter.
