Program Coordinator-Clinical & Translational Science

Job Description

Coordinates and provides administrative support of a specific program or program(s).  Plans and coordinates the day-to-day fiscal, administrative, and operational activities of a specific program or program(s).  The program(s), may be scientific, research, educational, or service oriented. Duties typically include grant planning and administration, budget management and control, program implementation and administration, internal and external operational/administrative liaison, program marketing, and reporting.  


Specifically, this role will correspond with prospective and current students regarding program information, course registration, application requirements and status, thesis and dissertation defense materials, visa applications; correspond with Clinical Translational Science Instructors on course scheduling, classroom booking and student feedback. Other responsible will include\: phone reception and general administrative support to the Chair, composition, organization and transmission of annual program review materials (program outcomes, curriculum matrix, etc.); Event planning to include seminars, and distinguished lecturers; purchasing of all consumable lab supplies, surgical supplies, research animals and diets, uniforms, and equipment used by the department and its research surgery team via Quartzy (lab management software) and CUBuyPlus/Unimarket (e-Procurement software); supervise volunteers/Work Study Employees; design of courses on Blueline web application for majority of department courses offered; maintaining department webpage (TYPO3 software); assist in preparing faculty/staff evaluation reports. 


This position will work Monday to Friday, 8am-4\:30pm, depending upon research needs position may require  working beyond normal business hours.

Qualifications\:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelorâ??s Degree preferred;

4 years' administrative and/or office management experience;

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities\:

Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments;

Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events;

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community;

Ability to lead and train staff and/or students;

Knowledge of finance, accounting, and budgeting procedures;

Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports;

Ability to function effectively as a team member, while exercising independent and critical judgment;

Ability to prioritize work with multiple and conflicting demands in a deadline-oriented environment
