Job Description

The Associate Director of Parent and Family Programs, in partnership with the Director of Parent and Family Programs, provides leadership of a strategic and comprehensive philanthropy program for the Creighton University parent and family community. Responsibilities include major gift cultivation and solicitation, stewardship, Creighton fund giving, communications strategy and management of volunteers associated with the Parent and Family Leadership Council. The Associate Director will partner effectively with Admissions, Student Life, Alumni Relations and Development staff to increase opportunities for engagement and to support programming and communication initiatives for parents and family of current, prospective, and former students. The Associate Director will carry his/her own portfolio of Parent and Family prospects.

Qualifications\:

Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum 6 years experience of demonstrated, successful fundraising preferred. Comparable experience will be considered.
Experience in a college or university environment or a national campaign environment preferred. Knowledge of and commitment to the field of education a plus.
Experience soliciting and closing major gifts a plus.
Must be comfortable discovering and pursuing new prospects and leads.
Strategic thinker with superb organizational, verbal and writing skills.
Outgoing and positive interpersonal skills with proven ability to work collaboratively or independently in managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Initiative, tenacity, strong results orientation, entrepreneurial mindset and proven track record in setting and achieving ambitious goals.
Must exhibit self-awareness, professionalism, integrity, and excellent judgment.
Appreciation and understanding of Creighton's mission and the ability to effectively communicate it.
Familiarity with Advance or comparable fund-raising database.
Ability to travel nationally to visit Parent and Family prospects and attend events.
