Senior Director Alumni Relations and Donor Engagement

Job Description

Oversee the management and strategic planning of Alumni Relations and Donor Engagement, including; the Regional Team, School/College team and Director of Affinity. The Senior Director also is responsible for the School of Dentistry alumni relations initiatives and acts in the capacity of the Director of Alumni Relations for the School of Dentistry. Continue to develop engagement programs that enhances and supports the engagement and fundraising objectives for the university, itâ??s specific school/colleges and units. To act as liaison to university leadership in partnership with the Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations and Donor Engagement.
Manage a team of direct reports who conceptualize programming to cultivate and recognize alumni in Creighton's schools and colleges, regional alumnus and identification and development of affinity programs. Direct reports also engage, recruit, manage, and train a portfolio of volunteers, assist with Alumni Advisory Board meetings and interact with, provide support, and actively participate in work groups within the assigned schools and colleges, the division of University Relations as well as alumni and volunteers. Manager qualifications include developing program standards, strategic planning for the division, adaptability, and minimal oversight. Project management and coaching/mentoring with a metric- based results oriented approach for the team while giving feedback for team improvement. Senior director will manage operating expense budget to support areas of direct reports in partnership with School/College budget representatives. Oversee and direct budgets with in Alumni Relations and Donor Engagement Oversight of compensation, merit and metrics for the Alumni Relations and Donor Engagement team. Work in conjunction with the Deans of the nine schools and colleges to provide collaborative implementation of programs and stewardship of resources. Assists the AVP with the National Alumni Board, organization and engagement.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, bench marking state-of-the-art practices and participating in professional societies. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations and Donor Engagement.

Qualifications\:


Required\:
Masters degree preferred, Bachelorsâ?? Degree required
7-10 years related experience of a team while managing multiple projects in a fast paced environment
Highly organized
Self-starter with high level of initiative and energy
Strong collaboration skills
Impeccable attention to detail
Knowledge of alumni relations and donor engagement\: Program conceptualization implementation and project coordination skills. Comparable experience will be considered
Experience managing volunteers and strong interpersonal skills utilized in relationship management
Knowledge of administration needs in a higher education setting preferred.
Ability to use data to drive strategy and monitor results
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends with some travel
Appreciation and understanding of Creighton University's mission and the ability to effectively communicate the mission
Familiarity with and regular use of excel for spreadsheet manipulation

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement complex plans coordinated among multiple constituencies

Familiarity with and regular use of Database and Customer Relationship Management system
Strong presentation skills
Demonstrated creativity in stewardship related projects
