Job Description

The role of the TRiO Coordinator for Classic Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math and Science is to actively engage with low-income students, first-generation college students, and students with disabilities to ensure student success. This position will build solid and trusting advising relationships with assigned students to provide thorough academic and coaching services to maximize student persistence, while monitoring their academic progress and intervening as needed.

  • BachelorĂ¢??s Degree.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in higher education or three years of experience working with disadvantage adults and/or youth, and ability to successfully build, foster, and maintain educational and institutional relationships.
  • Professional competencies essential to the position include organizational and time management abilities, comfortable working independently and in a team, interpersonal and cross-cultural traits, effective communication and writing proficiencies, and strong computer technology skills.
  • Knowledge of operations relating to grant projects, federally-funded initiatives, including TRIO Programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in and commitment to working with and advocating on behalf of students from disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds.
  • Preferred\: Bi-lingual in Spanish and English.
