Essential Job Functions


Perform storage and back-up administration and operational tasks consistent with a Senior administrator and in compliance with specific product requirements, and organizational SLAs and OLAs. Create formal documentation and standardize formats for detailed workplans, procedures, and policies.

Performs proactive checks, creates automated scripts and packages that make operations more efficient. Conduct research and recommend solutions for operational improvement. Create automation where we can broaden our capabilities the most. Conduct personnel training and review procedures to ensure compliance and technical accuracy

Performs issue resolution, ensure entrance criteria is accurately captured for issue identification and exit data is consistently provided to ensure complete resolution. Follow-up on open tickets to ensure they are being actively worked

Regular and reliable attendance is required.

  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or equivalent education/experience


(Minimum level of related experience typically required to successfully perform the job and preferred experience that is also beneficial to have in this job.)

  • 7 – 10 Years’ experience in Storage Administration and troubleshooting a broad range of issues
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with a Production environment
  • Minimum 2 years of ITIL and Change Management practices
  • Expert at identifying issues and driving to root cause via a consistent and logical approach.
  • Possesses strong communication skills (both written and verbal) to direct with precision and clarity remote-hands technicians over the phone to execute deployment, break-fix, and upgrade plans accurately.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Expert knowledge and ability to manage Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage(NAS)
  • Senior ability to manage and zone Fiber Switches.
  • Manage Netbackup Appliance including hardware/software configuration and tape management.
  • Upgrade firmware on SAN Appliance, Storage Devices, NAS Devices, Netbackup Appliance and SAN Fibre Switches.
  • Knowledge of server side for SAN/NAS/Backup administration to include HBA configuration, SAN/DMP/Backup Software installation , Disk administration, strong network skill set to configure, manage and test network settings.
  • Experience with rollout/implementation of SAN/NAS/Symantec Appliance.
  • Expert in command-line interface and scripting knowledge.
  • Expert in data replication, data de-duplication technologies.
  • Expert in planning and executing procedures for Disaster Recovery.
  • Expert in performance, monitoring and reporting on SAN/NAS/Backup appliance.
  • Expert skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Create and maintain system information diagrams and detailed documentation.
  • Proven ability to use metrics and reporting to improve SLA, SLG, CSI and ticket management goals.
  • Vendor management – submitting, tracking, closing and follow-up on open vendor cases
