Children’s Hospital & Medical Center, with the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, is currently recruiting a Pediatric Hospital Medicine physician to join its Pediatric Hospitalist team in Lincoln, Nebraska. This is a unique opportunity with unlimited potential to advance a strong clinical and academic career in Pediatric Hospital Medicine while still maintaining a focus on community hospital medicine. The successful candidate will join the 6 faculty and 2 Advanced Practice Providers in the Lincoln group, which is a part of the larger 30-member Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. The Lincoln Pediatric Hospitalists maintain a diverse array of clinical and academic programs that include general inpatient pediatrics at two regional medical centers, sub-specialty co-management, nursery care, and inpatient services at the region’s only pediatric rehabilitation hospitals. This individual will promote the clinical, educational, research, and advocacy goals of the institution, including providing education to medical students, advanced practice provider students, and residents in the UNMC Family Medicine Residency based in Lincoln. Individuals with fellowship training and/or significant interest/experience in quality improvement or implementation science are particularly encouraged to apply.
As faculty within the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine, physicians in the Lincoln Pediatric Hospitalist group are a part of Children’s Hospital & Medical Center, the only full-service, pediatric health care center in Nebraska. Children’s provide expertise in over 50 pediatric specialty services to children across a five-state region and beyond. Children’s is home to Nebraska’s only Level IV regional NICU and the state’s only Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. A regional heart center, it also offers expertise in pediatric heart transplantation. Children’s is focused on extraordinary clinical care, education, basic science and translational research and advocacy and is embarking on transformational programmatic and physical growth. The Hubbard Center for Children, which opened in 2021, is home to an additional 100 patient beds, an expanded NICU, a dedicated Cardiac Care Unit, a new Cancer & Blood Disorders Unit, expanded surgical space, an expanded Radiology and Emergency Department, and more. The Child Health Research Institute was established in 2017 and aims to assist investigators with start-up funding and infrastructure for clinical, basic science or translational research.
