Congenital Cardiac Surgeon
Children’s Hospital & Medical Center, with the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, is currently recruiting a BE/BC Congenital Cardiac Surgeon at the assistant professor level. Our team of three board certified pediatric and congenital heart surgeons is supported by dedicated pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists, pediatric cardiac perfusionists and experienced cardiac in- and outpatient nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The patient care team extends beyond surgery to include cardiology, nursing and intensive care. This collaborative approach ensures exceptional care for every child.
The Dr. C.C. and Mabel L. Criss Heart Center at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center provides care for patients of all ages, including fetuses, newborns, toddlers, preteens, adolescents and adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD). Our multidisciplinary team treats the full range of pediatric and adult congenital heart conditions. Children’s has been ranked as one of America’s top children’s hospitals for cardiology and heart surgery by U.S. News & World Report every year since 2011. The Heart Center is a certified Aetna Institute of Excellence for pediatric congenital heart surgery.
Children’s is a vibrant, free-standing pediatric teaching hospital and Nebraska’s only full service pediatric specialty health care center focused on extraordinary clinical care, education, clinical and outcomes research, and advocacy. The hospital is embarking on transformational programmatic and physical growth to address our local, regional, national and global patient care. The hospital has a Level IV Regional NICU, Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, Specialized Clinical Pediatric Services, and 24/7 Pediatric Intensivists. We have 50+ Specialty Clinics, 200+ Specialists, 14 Satellite Offices, multiple Pediatric Fellowship programs, and are Magnet Certified. Our new campus expansion plans include an additional 100 beds to the existing 145 beds, expansion of the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, Fetal Care Center and Fetal Surgery, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Care Unit, Short-Stay Observation Unit, Emergency Department, and Surgical Services. The expansion will also provide new facilities to support education and clinical and outcomes research.
