Faculty – Pediatric Anesthesiology
Children’s Hospital & Medical Center, with the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, is currently recruiting faculty to join the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology. The Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology is composed of 24 board certified pediatric anesthesiologists and five CRNAs providing clinical care (approximately 15,000 anesthetics per year) and education on three campuses (Children’s, UNMC and Outpatient Surgery Center). The division has a well-established ACGME pediatric anesthesiology fellowship and a very active acute and chronic pediatric pain management program. Clinical and translational research interests are strongly desired and supported, and the department has two basic science labs focused on preclinical research with both intramural and extramural grant funding.
The successful candidate will be board certified/eligible in Pediatric Anesthesiology and will receive an appointment at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in the appropriate academic rank.
Children’s is the only full-service, free standing pediatric health care center in Nebraska, providing expertise in more than 50 pediatric specialty services to children across a five-state region and beyond. Children’s is home to Nebraska’s only Level IV regional NICU and the state’s only Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. A regional heart center it also offers expertise in pediatric heart transplantation. Opening in 2021, the new Hubbard Center for Children will be home to an additional 100 patient beds, an expanded NICU, a dedicated Cardiac Care Unit, a new Cancer & Blood Disorders Unit, expanded surgical space including intra-operative MRI, an expanded Radiology and Emergency Department and more. The Child Health Research Institute was established in 2017 and aims to assist investigators with start-up funding and infrastructure for clinical, basic science or translational research. Children’s is recognized as a 2020-21 Best Children’s Hospital by U.S. News & World Report in four pediatric specialties: Cardiology & Heart Surgery, Gastroenterology & GI Surgery, Pulmonology & Lung Surgery and Urology.
