Job Description

Just like the children we serve, Children's is growing quickly and hiring a registered nurse, LPN, or medical assistant who will provide direct and indirect nursing care based on established patient care protocol and the nursing process.  Coordinate with coworkers to provide a team based approached to care.

RN:

Essential Functions/Competencies

1.        Contributes to the direct and indirect assessment and of the health care status of patients based on established patient care protocol and nursing process:

         Contributes to establishing nursing diagnoses which identifies the needs of the patient through the identification of signs and systems.

         Performs treatments, procedures and medication/immunization administration in a professional and compassionate manner according to office protocol.

         Contributes to the assessment of physical, mental, emotional, developmental and social conditions when interviewing all patients/families in the office.

         Coordinates the scheduling of diagnostic tests and procedures with the patient/family, other physicians/hospitals and the insurance companies as directed by the provider.

         Participates in patient/family education.

         Provides care based on age-specific or developmental milestones for infant, toddler, preschool, school age or adolescent according to protocol under the direct supervision of the RN.

         Completes all required patient care documentation and reporting in accurate and timely manner on the appropriate forms and within the electronic medical record.

         Responds appropriately in crisis situations or life threatening emergencies.

         Promotes a team based approach in the delivering of nursing care as determined by the needs of the office and the direction of the office manager or physician(s).

 

Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job.

RN
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Excellent skills in communication, listening, customer service, organization.
  • Excellent clinical skills providing direct and indirect nursing care in an office setting.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
  • Ability to type, navigate an electronic system, and adapt to changes in workflows as they occur.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing preferred
  • Previous pediatric nursing experience preferred
  • Previous experience with EPIC preferred.

     

    CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current and valid Nebraska RN license/RN Compact license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Certification in a nursing specialty is preferred.

LPN:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Graduate from an accredited school or university as a LPN required.
  • Previous pediatric nursing experience preferred.

 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current and valid LPN license for NE/IA depending on state of residency required.
  • Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

 

Medical Assistant:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Graduate from accredited program to become a certified medical assistant required.
  • Minimum two years' experience as a Certified Medical assistant in a clinic setting required.
  • Previous pediatric nursing experience preferred.

 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Current and valid Medical Assistant certification or AAMA certification preferred.
