Children's is looking to hire a  Senior Financial Systems Analyst, Corporate Finance. This position is responsible for planning, implementing and supporting all financial systems.   Works with all functional areas in finance to identify opportunities to improve work flow process, researches current financial systems capabilities and best practices, recommends improvements and facilitates the implementation to improve processes.  Ensures all applications are updated appropriately as business requirements change and/or new requirements identified.

Essential Functions/Competencies

  1. Functions as the corporate finance lead for all system implementations.
    • Evaluates products to determine which product will best meet the needs of the department and organization.
    • Serves as project manager for current and future system implementations.
    • Coordinates and maintains system interfaces.
    • Understands and documents work flow processes and data in order to validate results.
  • Manages project resources to keep projects on track.
  1. Identifies opportunities for improvements in work flow process and recommending solutions
    • Collaborates with appropriate individuals to gather input, evaluate processes, develop recommendations and facilitate implementation.
    • Analyzes and designs process automation.  Works with users in the analysis, functional design, implementation and testing of new/modifications to automate procedures.
    • Consistently reviews current processes and identifies opportunities for improvement.
    • Researches current system functionality, makes recommendations and implements change to maximize the systems.
  • Provides training and maintains all system documentation.   
  1. Responsible for managing all financial system upgrades including pre-assessments, testing and movement of test system to production in order to ensure successful migration.
    • Organizes and coordinates teams for planning, configuration and testing purposes.
    • Documents and communicates changes and new features.
  2. Develops reports as requested by meeting with end user to gain a better understanding of the business needs and collaboratively identifies best practice solutions, defines report requirements and identifies best source system.
  3. Maintains and monitors chart of accounts usage and make recommendations to Vice President of Finance for necessary changes.
  4. Maintains account, department and functional expense definitions.
  5. Provides training to end users.
  6. Provides backup/support to analysts as needed.
  7. Prepares and writes reports as required.  Involves gathering data from various sources, conducting appropriate research, analyzing the data and preparing clear and concise reports based on the project goals and requirement.
  8. Documents tasks and cross trains each with back up designees.
  9. Maintains proper security within the systems.
  10. Ensures systems are utilized to best capacity and evaluates future needs.
  11. Serves as corporate finance representative in all projects that involve finance from a systems perspective.
  12. Acts as liaison between IT and Finance in relation to financial software implementation and production.
  13. Serves as a resource to all finance users for system issues and automation processes within corporate finance.  Documents processes and implements solutions as needed.

Requires knowledge of the following software:

  • High level of systems analysis and problem solving skills necessary in order to develop and implement new procedures and solutions.
  • Preferred working knowledge of Infor/lawson financial software, Kronos, database management (SQL) and Crystal report writer
  • Knowledge of decision support systems; StrataJazz preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows environment, especially Excel and Access
  • Must be professional and have good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the basic principles of accounting, general finance theories and methodologies and statistical theories
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines and identify priorities in a fast-paced, highly visible environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships; team player
  • Demonstrated experience teaching, mentoring and developing skills sets, where appropriate
  • Ability to take complex analytical data and synthesize it in reportable and understandable context.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, healthcare or information systems required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with business or financial information system software solutions; preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Must have experience supervising small teams in a customer focused environment.
