We'r searching for a Network Cyber Security Engineer who is responsible for a variety of very complex tasks including the architecture, design, installation, and administration of Children’s computer systems as well as the establishment of comprehensive, high-quality procedures for managing those systems in an enterprise environment with explicit focus on architecture and engineering using analytic methods. The Network Cyber Security Engineer will also develop requirements, standard, and researche new products., works independently on a variety of complex tasks., administer network operating systems and database of users and participates in the On-Call schedule.

  1. System Security Engineering:
  • Designs, engineers and develops security tools for ITG infrastructure and applications environment
  • Designs vulnerability testing processes and security breach mitigation tactics
  • Design, configure, implement and maintain all security platforms and their associated software, such as routers, switches, firewalls, WAF, NIDPS, UTM, VPN, anti-virus, cryptography systems, SIEM, Anti-SPAM, and MDM
  • Design, review and ongoing assessment of firewall, intrusion detection/intrusion prevention, SIEM, VPN, SSL, application control, Antivirus, and other network component policies.
  • Develop, implement, and execute standard procedures for the administration, content management, change management, version/patch management, log throughput validation and lifecycle management of the SIEM/Log Management platforms.
  • Performs security reconnaissance on assets, gathering intelligence to identify and respond to potential security threats or vulnerabilities of moderate organizational risk and complexity, ensuring appropriate leader notification and threat mitigation.
  • Responsible for major Security platform changes including upgrades.
  • Coordinate and oversee third-party penetration testing
  • Select appropriate controls and define control objectives and activities to achieve policy goals and regulatory compliance

  1. Systems Security Analysis:
    • Maintains up-to-date baselines for the secure configuration and operations of all in-place devices, whether they be under direct control (e.g., security tools) or not (e.g., workstations, servers, network devices, etc.)
    • Performs security analysis of new and existing applications and operating systems; works with customers and vendors to implement and optimize client’s and ITG security standards into products before they go into production
    • Analyzes other department’s systems to assess security vulnerability and needs
    • Ensure network security best practices are implemented through auditing: access controls; router, switch, and firewall configurations; systems change control and monitoring
    • Provide periodic vulnerability testing, and lead remediation projects
    • Formulate systems and methodologies as well as respond to security related events and assist in remediation efforts
    • Coordinate, and monitor log analysis for our managed services offerings, to ensure customer policy and security requirements are met
    • Monitor security systems to identify security events and respond to, investigate, and mitigate those events
    • Collaborate with IT Information security team members to maintain security response plans

  1. Project Management and Communications:
    • Uses all relevant processes including project management systems, trouble ticket systems, service outage calendars, email, phone trees, paging systems and other communications tools as relevant
    • Interacts with vendors, managers, development staff, directors, customers, technical staff, database administrators, and other resources within and out of the client to perform the duties of the job

  1. System Security Administration:
    • Researches and writes security “effective practices” as “living documents” which are updated as the environment changes. This role includes Policy Implementation
    • Collaborates with Senior Information Security Analyst to create policies, procedures and best practices

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of security network devices (firewalls, switches, SIEM, Antivirus, cryptography, etc.) and other security networking hardware/software tools
  • Demonstrated understanding of information security concepts, standards, practices, including but not limited to firewalls, intrusion prevention and detection, TCP/IP and related protocols, device monitoring and log management and event monitoring/reporting
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, access control lists, firewalls, VPN, NAT and network traffic analysis.
  • Demonstrable analytical and technical aptitude with focus on identify and alleviating the root cause of the issue; solves the whole problem
  • Experience acting as a technical lead, preferably in a healthcare environment, in support of a large, complex vendor application
  • Ability to generate and execute procedures and plans that facilitate operational changes as they occur 
  • Proficient in network architectures and topologies
  • Expert knowledge of application and implementation of HIPAA control implementation
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the following:
    • Network and routing protocols
    • Network topologies
    • Data Communications Equipment
    • Network Management Tools
    • Operating Systems (*NIX, Mac OS X, Windows XP/7/8/Server, etc.)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Cyber-Security, Networking, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field required, equivalent work experience systems administer or design experience may be substituted for education
  • Minimum three years of experience in LAN and WAN technologies, network design, network management etc.
  • Minimum three years of progressively responsible experience performing Windows system administration duties in a critical production environment, preferably healthcare

 

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Possess or be able to obtain and maintain Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
  • Certified Ethical Hacker and GAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) are preferred
