Job Description

Just like the children we serve, Children's is growing quickly and hiring a LPN or Medical Assistant who is responsible for providing professional nursing care based on scope of nursing practice /patient care protocols and in accordance with Children’s Physicians policies and procedures.

Essential Functions/Competencies

  1. Contributes to the direct and indirect assessment and of the health care status of patients based on established patient care protocol and nursing process:
  • Contributes to establishing nursing diagnoses which identifies the needs of the patient through the identification of signs and systems.
  • Performs treatments, procedures and medication/immunization administration in a professional and compassionate manner according to office protocol.
  • Contributes to the assessment of physical, mental, emotional, developmental and social conditions when interviewing all patients/families in the office.
  • Coordinates the scheduling of diagnostic tests and procedures with the patient/family, other physicians/hospitals and the insurance companies as directed by the provider.
  • Participates in patient/family education.
  • Provides care based on age-specific or developmental milestones for infant, toddler, preschool, school age or adolescent according to protocol under the direct supervision of the RN.
  • Completes all required patient care documentation and reporting in accurate and timely manner on the appropriate forms and within the electronic medical record.
  • Responds appropriately in crisis situations or life threatening emergencies.
  • Promotes a team based approach  in the delivering of nursing care as determined by the needs of the office and the direction of the office manager or physician(s).

LPN
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Graduate from an accredited school or university as a LPN required
  • Previous pediatric nursing experience preferred

 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current and valid LPN license for NE/IA depending on state of residency required
  • Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

 

Medical Assistant

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Graduate from accredited program to become a certified medical assistant required
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Certified Medical assistant in a clinic setting required
  • Previous pediatric nursing experience preferred

 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Current and valid Medical Assistant certification or AAMA certification preferred
