GENERAL SUMMARY:  Assists supervisors in the hiring process by developing sourcing and recruitment plans for positions up to management level.  Represents the hospital at external career fairs, internal open houses and other recruiting functions. 

 

Essential Functions/Competencies

  1. Coordinates placement process for  professional , technical, and support positions to ensure that all selection decisions are made in compliance with hospital policies and all state and federal regulations.

  1. Coordinates all internal and external sourcing activities including the following:
    • Utilizes internet online recruiting sources to identify and recruit candidates
    • Develops and maintains relationships with local and regional schools, and other public organizations to find and attract applicants.
    • Represents hospital on panel discussions, at schools, organizations, and job fairs regarding the organization and opportunities.
    • Works with external recruiters and employment agencies to identify and recruit candidates
    • Promotes hospital career opportunities to students during clinical rotations

4.  Serves as a resource to the organization to increase management effectiveness by assisting supervisors in learning about employment           selection, interviewing skills, and Human Resource policies and procedures.

5.  Recommends appropriate pay rates to supervisors and works with Compensation to ensure pay equity for employees by completing wage calculations in accordance with compensation policies and procedures.

6.  Completes all paperwork to ensure an efficient and effective employment/termination process by following departmental guidelines and procedures.

8.  Assists in tracking key data including vacancy rates, time to fill, cost per hire and turnover.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable federal and state employment laws.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are necessary to interact with all internal and external customers.
  • Strong customer service commitment. 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience in recruiting required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
