Children’s Hospital & Medical Center with the University of Nebraska College of Medicine is recruiting a Neonatologist. Children’s is a vibrant free standing pediatric teaching hospital and Nebraska’s only full service pediatric specialty health care center focused on extraordinary clinical care, education, clinical and outcomes research and advocacy. This is an ideal time to join our team because the hospital is embarking on transformational programmatic and physical growth to address our local, regional, national and global patient care. The hospital currently has a 40-bed Level IV NICU, Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, Specialized Clinical Pediatric Services, and a 20-bed PICU. We have 50+ Specialty Clinics, 185+ Specialists, 13 Satellite Offices, Pediatric Fellowship programs, and we are Magnet Certified. Our new campus expansion plans include an additional 100 beds to the existing 145, increasing the NICU to 70 beds, Fetal Care Center, PICU, Cardiac Center including dedicated intensive care, Surgical Services, Education, Clinical & Outcomes Research. A Neonatology Fellowship Program is due to open in 2019.
The Division of Neonatology is looking for individuals doubled boarded in Neonatology or Intensive Care. Alternatively, preference will be given to individuals boarded in Neonatology. The additional neonatologist(s) will optimize the care and outcome of newborns with congenital cardiovascular disease by developing clinical protocols and educational programs. Ideal candidates will have an interest in relevant basic/translational/clinical research. The Division is keen to develop robust research infrastructure and programs, and funds to develop a research program are available based on the candidate’s expertise. Individuals will hold a faculty appointment at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine commensurate with their credentials and they will join the current faculty of 13 neonatologists. The Children’s Hospital & Medical Center has the only level IV NICU in the state of Nebraska and is the site of neonatal respiratory and cardiac ECMO as well as a large number of open heart surgeries, including an active heart transplant program. He/she will have administrative, academic, and clinical experience within a complex, pediatric tertiary care medical center.
