The purpose of this position is to assess regulatory compliance risk and monitor business processes and activities to determine whether these are being carried out as planned and to identify possible deficiencies and non-compliance, as needed to make corrections and prevent risk exposure. In addition, this position is responsible for supporting the Enterprise Risk Management program by coordinating aspects of the program to develop and manage a systematic process to identify, monitor, measure, and mitigate actual and potential exposures to risk.
What you'll do:
Develop and conduct monitoring plans for processes or activities identified as a compliance risk in an objective, consistent and timely manner. Coordinate with various business areas to conduct monitoring activities.
Assist business areas in developing Corrective Action Plans and ensure implementation of CAPs. Provide direction & coaching as needed to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, standards, policies and procedures. Schedule and conduct follow up monitoring of implemented CAP activities.
Make recommendations for operationalizing the monitoring activities within the business areas, with periodic reporting to compliance.
Assess regulatory compliance risks using a formal risk assessment process according to BCBSNE's compliance risk landscape and develop a compliance work plans using the results of the risk assessment.
Administer the Enterprise Risk Management program to include, but not limited to maintain policies and procedures, analysis of data and metrics, coordinating/facilitating ERM group meetings.
Develop and maintain documentation of compliance activities in a clear & consistent manner and according to department procedures. To include, but not limited to reports and dashboards for risk assessments and compliance monitoring, board reports, ERM dashboards, meeting minutes, policies and procedures.
Foster strong working relationships with business partners at all levels in the enterprise. Work collaboratively with business partners and team members in compliance.
Conduct other projects and special requests as assigned by management.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field.
4 years' experience in compliance risk, monitoring, auditing, insurance or other related business functions.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
The strongest candidates for this position will also possess:
Knowledge of healthcare or institutional knowledge of BCBSNE.
An understanding of the business practices as well as the laws, regulations, standards, policies and procedures that impact the business areas being assessed and monitored.
Knowledge of enterprise risk management practices.
Masters Degree in Business, Health Care Management or related field.
