Education &/or Licensure
Must have successfully completed the 75-hour state approved course for Nursing Assistant if hired into the Nursing Assistant position after April 30, 1998.
Nurse Assistants must be on the Nurse Aide Registry of the State in which they work if hired into the Nursing Assistant position after April 30, 1998.
BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following\: American Red Cross\: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and American Heart Association\: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Preferred\: Phlebotomy certification or completion of a phlebotomy course.
Preferred\: Six months experience in an acute care hospital or skilled care facility in the acute care area including previous phlebotomy experience.
Ability to use general clerical equipment, telephones, and computers is required.
The ability to organize and prioritize work; job requires individual and group interaction. Job requires continuous verbal communication skills, frequent reading skills, written communication skills, and computer skills.
Normal laboratory environment. Exposure to chemical and biological hazards. Routine periods of sitting, walking and standing required.
