Minimum of completion of junior year as student in an accredited Baccalaureate Nursing Program; actively enrolled and in good standing.
Required License and Certifications
BLS or BLS instructor certification required upon hire. Refer to policy Licensed, Certified, and Registered Employees for acceptable life support cards.
Required/Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of nursing theory and practice acquired through successful completion of equivalent of junior year of Baccalaureate nursing curriculum.
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to gather and exchange information with preceptor, co-workers, physicians, patient family, visitors and other hospital personnel.
Analytical skills necessary to develop and implement effective nursing care and beginning problem-solving measures for patients physical, psychosocial, and spiritual well-being.
Ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail when planning and implementing nursing care, resolving patient care problems, and communicating with patients and families.
Active state registry as a Nurse Aide (CNA) preferred.
