Education and Experience
Preferred\: A Bachelors Degree in Human Service field or Graduate of a Psychiatric Assistant or Nurse Aide training program or one year experience in the Behavioral Health field is preferred. Will consider current nursing students or students studying a Human Services field.
Required\: High School Diploma with at least 1 year of experience as a Psych Tech or equivalent.
Required\: Physical and mental health, emotional maturity and interpersonal competence. Demonstrated ability to effect planned change in a positive manner. Able to work with a interdisciplinary team. Able to appropriately resolve conflict and crisis situations. Demonstrated ability to seek opportunities for personal and professional growth. An understanding of normal and abnormal development across the life span.
Will obtain the following within six (6) months of employment\:
-Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification
-Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting-APS IA only
BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following\: American Red Cross\: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute\: CPR, PRO, must say Professional Level-with AED, and American Heart Association\: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
-Job requires continuous communication skills, frequent reading skills, written communication skills, and computer skills.
-Facilitate Individual/group therapies
-Ability to critically think and problem solve
