QUALIFICATIONS\: Experience Prefer two to three years of post license experience in a mental health/addiction recovery or related field. Experience with Health Psychology desirable.
Education/Licensure PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology preferred, but would also consider a minimum of a Masters degree from an accredited educational institution in Counseling, Social Work, or other related behavioral health field. Must possess independent licensure in either field. Acceptable licenses include PsyD, PhD, LISW, LIMHP.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Strong knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence-based treatments for medical and mental health conditions. Strong knowledge of evidence-based behavioral assessments and interventions relevant to medical conditions such as disease management, treatment compliance and life style change. Strong knowledge of chemical dependency and evidenced based treatments. Ability to approach patients with the approach of population management. Ability to conduct brief, evidence-based and developmentally appropriate screening. Conduct or arrange for more comprehensive assessments when needed. Ability to work within brief client contacts to make timely and accurate clinical assessments of mental health and behavioral conditions. Comfortable with high pace of primary care setting and working within an interdisciplinary team. Strong communication skills to provide feedback and consultation in fast-paced setting to primary care physicians, nurses and clinic staff. Strong knowledge of, and comfort in working within, brief behavioral or psychological, strength-based, problem-focused interventions. Knowledge of community resources and understanding of when it is appropriate to make referral for continued, extended treatment. Good working knowledge with psycho-pharmacology and medical terminology. Ability to be flexible and adaptable, assertive, collaborative and innovative.
