Education\: Graduate of a school of registered nursing acknowledged by the State of Nebraska Department of Human Services, Division of Regulation and Licensure. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required within 5 years of hire date/effective date for all hired into this role after June 1, 2014.
Licensure\: Active Nebraska (or multi-state compact) Registered Nurse License. Individual is responsible to maintain a current nursing license. BLS within 3 months of employment. BSN preferred. Psychiatric Mental Health Certification preferred. Aggression Management Training within 3 months of employment.
Experience\: The following are minimum. Preferred experience is noted as appropriate.
Two years clinical experience in mental health or related setting preferred. Supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred. Experience completing mental status exams and psychiatric nursing assessments preferred. Knowledge of psychopharmacology preferred.
Professionalism/Growth\: Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care. Ability to see and hear in order to perform assessment duties. Keyboarding skills required. Must possess interpersonal skills to effectively work with employees, visitors and customers. Ability to prioritize and organize work.
