Required\: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Must have a Current Registered Nurse License in Nebraska or Iowa, Nebraska and Iowa are compact states, so license must be held in the state of your residence.
Masters degree with a major in nursing that includes a clinical specialty tract. NRP, ACLS recommended depending on practice.
A Current Clinical Nurse Specialist license in Nebraska and/or Iowa. License must cover the state in which the CNS is practicing. Must have passed an approved national certification examination, or if such an examination is not available, may meet an alternative method of competency assessment as determined by the Board of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses.
BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following\: American Red Cross\: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute\: CPR, PRO, must say Professional Level-with AED, and American Heart Association\: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Preferred\: Specialty certification.
Preferred\: Minimum of three years of clinical practice as a registered nurse with two years experience in area of specialty.
Experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Leadership experience.

Possesses leadership qualities congruent with organizational philosophy. Knowledge of and ability to operate computer/CRT. Knowledge of and ability to operate all patient care equipment appropriate to division of care. Job requires continuous verbal communication skills.
