Essential job Functions:  

The Director of Tech Community Development is responsible for aligning the organization’s programs to the needs of the tech community. This role is a high visibility, high touch catalyst for the organization and provides consistent leadership to both existing and new partnership and AIM membership opportunities. 

The Director of Tech Community Development will also oversee the successful launch and scaled growth of AIM’s tech placement platform.

  • Serves as a primary tech community facing representative for AIM with the highest level of representatives within AIM’s target organizations

  • Responsible for the successful launch and development of AIM’s tech placement platform.

  • Performs active networking and information gathering with key tech leaders and organizations,  attending community tech meetings and engaging in strategic community boards

  • Provides strategic leadership regarding highly requested technologies, skills, processes and certifications currently in high demand within the community

  • Provides input on budgets and quarterly revenue forecasts 

  • Provides strategic leadership and technical content oversight for AIM Events and AIM Leadership Academies. Tech curriculum for AIM Code School as needed

  • Provides tactical insights for AIM Events, AIM Custom Training, AIM Code School and AIM Leadership Academies

  • Ensures appropriate tech community related processes are identified, documented and followed

  • Ensures First Job in Tech related metrics are appropriately tracked and reported

Education and Experience:  

  • Experience presenting to C-suite

  • Experience with Saas product development and full cycle sales

  • Experience managing budgets and hitting target forecasts

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing departments, teams and individuals

  • Experience with business networking and lead generation

  • Experience with product ownership from planning to execution

  • Demonstrated success driving profitable organizational initiatives

  • Experience managing successful teams and projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

  • Strategic business and project planning/management skills

  • A firm understanding of technology platforms as it relates to business

  • The ability to effectively communicate technology-related concepts to general audiences, i.e. selling the “why.”

  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Collaborative and charismatic
