Adjunct Web Tech Instructor - AIM Code School

At the AIM Institute, Web Tech Instructors provide assist in curriculum development, instruction, and mentorship to students enrolled in an AIM Code School course.  All instructors are expected to be experienced in their field with a focus on information technology and/or computer programming. In addition to conducting workshops and instruction, instructors will also assist in ensuring the quality of instructional content, and recruiting students.

  • Teach/maintain a standardized curriculum for the assigned course which may include one of all of the following: 

    • Introduction to Web Development

    • Java

    • .Net

    • COBOL

    • Agile

    • Additional Course as Developed

  • Help in the Recruitment of Students for the Code School, Specifically their Assigned Course

  • Mentor above and beyond technical knowledge including, job skills, resume writing assistance, ect. 

  • Field Questions From Students As Needed During the Duration of the Course

  • Create or collaborate to create course resources for assigned classes.

  • Instruct day/evening classes/workshops as assigned.

  • Engage the community about the benefits of the Tech Education and specifically the Code School


  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field, 2+ years’ experience working with related technologies, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 6 years.
  • Proficient in 2 or more of the following fields/languages:
    • Front End Development
    • Java/Full Stack Development
    • COBOL
    • .NET
    • WordPress
    • Cyber Security
    • Ruby
  • Preferred experience in a classroom setting instructing for a similar field.


The AIM Code Shcool pays Web Tech instructors between $30 and $50 an hour depending on the number of people being taught in each class.  The average class length is 80 - 112 hours of instructional time plus 20 - 28 hours of prep, grading and planning time.
