College & Career Coordinator

AIM is seeking a College & Career Site Coordinator to serve Bryan High School participants in Omaha, NE.  The College & Career Coordinator manages daily administration of a grant for teens with academic promise who are low income, first generation students. This positions works directly with students to provide services which include academic advisement, assistance with career research and college planning, and leading workshops and other program activities. #Education #FirstGeneration #Technology

The site coordinator office environment includes scheduled appointments. This position will include occasional staff development opportunities to ensure that project activities are top-quality. The position involves working Monday-Friday, including some evening and weekend duties.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is English/Spanish bilingual, has a background in education or mentoring, and is strongly tech-savvy, especially with Google Suite or Microsoft Office.   • Identify, recruit, and select and serve project participants
  • Design, implement, lead and supervise workshops and activities presented to participants and parents
  • Supervise afterschool studies
  • Routine interaction with students, parents, school personnel and the public
  • Maintain current information on each participant through rigorous documentation and record keeping
  • Knowledgeable regarding scholarships and financial aid sources and applications
  • Coordinate disbursements and expenditures of program funds
  • Coordinate the counseling and instructional functions of the project
  • Provide comprehensive services to participants, including career, personal, academic and group advising/counseling
  • Provide for overall program supervision
  • Ensure that the program meets objectives
  • Complete Annual Performance Reports
  • Ensure equal student access to the program
  • Establish, evaluate, and revise information and reporting systems and participant needs assessment
  • Collaborate with other programs and services to create a climate that fosters success
  • Disseminate information about the availability of services, including presenting the program at appropriate meetings
  • Track and assist graduating seniors through their college experience
  • Perform other duties as needed/assigned


  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, educational leadership, or a similar field required
  • Preferred Spanish bilingual but not required
  • Minimum three years related work experience to include working with low-income and/or first generation students required
  • Experience designing, managing, and implementing UB, TRIO or other grant programs and curriculum development preferred
  • Experience overcoming barriers similar to participating students preferred (low income, first-generation status)
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills
  • Experience with mentoring, tutoring, or counseling
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with students and others of diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with public schools
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel and email
  • Ability to work independently and accurately, and make decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures
