Web Tech Instructor - Interface Web School

At the AIM Institute, Instructors provide curriculum development, instruction, and mentorship to students enrolled at the Interface Web School. All instructors are expected to be experienced in their field with a focus on information technology. In addition to conducting workshops and instruction, instructors will also be responsible for ensuring quality of instructional content, recruit students and companies for training, and be involved with community engagement.

Instructors should uphold the mission of the AIM Institute to inspire and grow tech talent. This is a part-time/contractual position that ranges from 3-hour workshops to 14-week courses.


  • Work with leadership on annual product strategy and roadmap
  • Create/maintain standardized curriculum for the Introduction to Web Development, Java, COBOL, and all other courses.
  • Quality assurance and signoff of additional purchased AIM curriculum.
  • Interview and manage instructor resources including administering performance evaluations with part-time instructors.
  • Ensure day to day Interface operations are covered and consistent with support from AIM Operations and Leadership.
  • Create or collaborate to create curriculum for additional courses and workshops as applicable.
  • Instruct day/evening classes/workshops.
  • Engage the community about the benefits of the instruction/curriculum to local groups or organizations.
  • Prepare required documents for course partnerships with other learning institutions.
  • Collaborate with the AIM Development team to build/buy the necessary infrastructure (including mobile platforms) for online learning environments to expand the reach of Interface courses.
  • Record instructional videos (introductory, short recordings and recordings to support the online curriculum delivery mentioned above).
  • Recruit potential students and partner companies for corporate training courses.


  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field, 2+ years’ experience working with related technologies, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 6 years.
  • Proficient in 2 or more of the following fields/languages:
    • Front End Development
    • Java/Full Stack Development
    • COBOL
    • .NET
    • WordPress
    • Cyber Security
    • Ruby
  • Preferred experience in a classroom setting instructing for a similar field.
