Job Title Plumber Pipefitter II (M-F 8am-5pm) Maintenance and Operations

Essential Functions

Under general supervision, provide technical installation, operation and maintenance of University Campus plumbing and pipe fitter work as it relates to general buildings plumbing and piping systems and those systems characteristics to a college academic multi-building environment while complying with State and National Codes and Regulations.

Work Schedule M-F 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Additional Duties

Installing and repair of plumbing systems which include but not limited to potable water systems, drains, waste, and vent systems and associated equipment, low pressure steam lines and traps, chilled water lines, fire hydrants, and backflow preventers
May be required to assist in the repairs of fire protection, domestic water mains distribution lines, and respond to natural gas leaks.
Ability to work on sinks faucets, water closets, flush valves, water coolers, water heaters, water softeners, backflow preventers, pumps, etc
Perform preventative maintenance with assigned areas
Provide locating services on campus and use locating equipment properly
Limited participation in new and remodel construction design reviews, construction installations inspections and final check list preparations
Respond to emergency utility repairs after normal business hours
Understand and demonstrate the ability to read blue prints, construction plans and utility plans

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Minimum of 5 years-experience in the installation plumbing industry working for a company performing similar services required by UNO
Valid City of Omaha Journeyman Plumbers License or Uniform Plumbing Code Journeyman License
Valid Drivers License

Preferred Qualifications

Associate Degree in a related field of study – similar Military experience is acceptable
Valid Driver License
