Position Purpose

Manage pricing analysis  and recommendations for Solutions business opportunities including, but not limited to Customer RFP’s, Committed Capacity Pricing requests, Peak pricing, and Special Projects.  Analysis and related recommendation will be focused on financial (pricing, margin, etc.), service (mode, special services, etc.) and operational (3PL, Logistics and Brokerage) aspects of each opportunity.  This position will also assist in developing the formal business proposal response (internal or external) that is associated with each opportunity.  This position will collaborate with and support all functional aspects of Solutions business opportunities that require pricing.  Also responsible for understanding market conditions and industry pricing trends.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Manage the related analysis, recommendation and response for RFP’s, Committed Capacity Pricing, Peak pricing, and Special Projects to facilitate the development of competitive logistics and transportation offerings that Solutions can provide for such opportunities.
  • Oversee and/or conduct analysis work that may include distribution network efficiency, industry best practices, customer needs/expectations, competitive transportation offerings, CTG asset company support requirements and industry pricing trends..
  • Manage the development of formal proposals (internal and external) to favorably position Solutions (and CTG) to successfully execute the recommended service offering and capture new or retain existing business for each business opportunity.
  • Work to ensure that proposals are developed in keeping with existing standard operating protocols and Solutions capabilities.  Work to call out exceptions and facilitate appropriate changes and/or work around procedures in order to enable the desired financial results.
  • Manage the development of appropriate metrics (leading and lag) to track and understand pricing effectiveness (win rate, execution ability and margin performance).  Help to facilitate the measurement process including developing reports that recap relevant key performance indicators.   Analyzes such reports to identify areas of improvement opportunity and initiates report  distribution of results and recommendations for follow up.  Ensures follow up actions are taken.
  • Supports the Director/VP of Capacity Management with other analytical and/or execution activity for  RFP’s, Peak/Special Projects, Bid and New Customer opportunities as appropriate or needed.
  • Proactively and regularly reach out to all stakeholders (internal & external) to ensure satisfaction with Solutions pricing and bid performance. Maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholders (internal & external) to help facilitate long term success of all parties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Position Requirements

4 Year Degree Preferred – Business, Supply Chain, 3PL or Finance

5+ Years Transportation/3PL/Supply Chain Industry Experience

Multi Modal Experience Preferred - TL, LTL, Intermodal, Parcel, International

Proficiency with Technology Systems – Microsoft Office, Outlook, TMS, etc.

Good Written and Verbal Communication Skills

Strong Organization and/or Project Management Skills

Ability to Work Independently – Bias for Action, High Level of Initiative, etc.

Professional Presentation – Appearance and Speaking

Uncompromising Level of Integrity
