The Benefits Analyst coordinates all benefits administration of medical, dental and vision programs for all Erlanger employees under the direction of the Benefits Manager.
Graduate from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business, personnel or human resource administration or a minimum of 10 to 15 years of Health and Welfare Benefits experience. De-escalation Training if Applicable
Four or five years of appropriate work experience with knowledge of comprehensive benefits programs. Must have experience with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Internet. Must have a comprehensive knowledge of benefits and data entry. Present him/herself in a professional manner and work as a liaison with different levels of personnel internal and external to the organization and demonstrate integrity when interacting with all customer populations. He/she must demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills. The Benefits Analyst must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time, be able to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines. The Benefits Analyst must maintain confidentiality in all matters and must promote teamwork in intra/interdepartmental relationships.
Demonstrated work experience in hospital or healthcare preferred. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft software.

Department Position Summary:
The Benefits Analyst will administer the medical, dental and vision programs for Erlanger Health System employees. He/she will communicate with the medical, dental and vision vendors regarding eligibility and other benefit issues. The Analyst will perform monthly audits of medical and dental claims and be responsible for weekly claims invoices. He/she will act as the liaison for employees and COBRA participants assisting with unresolved medical, dental and vision issues with insurance carrier(s). The Analyst will assure employees adherence to benefit policies, procedures and practices for qualifying events and HIPPA Special Enrollment Rights. He/she will be responsible for the benefits presentation at New Hire Orientation. The Analyst will provide resolution of payroll deduction issues and coordinate corrective payment of retroactive charges for delinquent and overpayments of payroll benefit deductions for medical, dental and vision. He/she will be responsible for correctly processing BAS activity through PeopleSoft. And, will assist with Open Enrollment and other special projects as assigned by the Benefits Manager. The Benefits Analyst performs difficult, complex, technical and/or specialized office support work, which requires the exercise of independent judgment, the application of technical skill and a detailed knowledge of the activities and procedures specific to benefits assigned.
