Job Summary:
Supervisor/Team Leader for staff of 10 biomedical equipment technicians, who support medical equipment throughout Erlanger Health System. Position is about 85% supervision and 15% hands-on.

Education:
Required:
Minimum of an Associates degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or equivalent military or work experience required. De-escalation training, if applicable

Required:
Eight years experience as a BMET, including three years experience as BMET III as an Imaging Specialst I, II or III, required.

Preferred:
Two years experience as BMET Supervisor preferred. Experience with maintenance and repair of Respiratory Therapy, Imaging, and/or Surgery equipment desired.


Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required:
Valid drivers license.

Preferred:
-Certification by the ICC as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET)
-A+ certification

Department Position Summary:
Supervisor/Team Leader for staff of 10 biomedical equipment technicians, who support medical equipment throughout Erlanger Health System. Position is about 85% supervision and 15% hands-on.

Supervisory responsibilities include:
-Administration of AIMS Computerized Maintenance Management System (Data Manager set up, PM Procedures, PM scheduling, technician training, etc.)
-Coordination of technician work schedules
-Management of technician resources to meet scheduled maintenance performance expectations (100% Life Support On Time, >95% Non-Life Support On Time)
-Monitoring of all categories of work order completion and documentation (PM, Repair, Recall, etc.)
-Coordination and documentation of vendor maintenance
-Assistance with pre-purchase planning for new biomedical equipment,
-Development/improvement of departmental operating procedures
-Evaluation of occurrence reports involving medical equipment
-Development and presentation of in-service educational programs for both departmental and hospital personnel.

Hands-on responsibilities include:
-Maintenance, repair and calibration of both basic and sophisticated biomedical equipment
-Documentation of work to meet departmental and JCAHO/DNV requirements
