Job Summary: The Database Engineer III will help manage all aspects of the enterprise database environments including comprehensive administration, maintenance, monitoring, and technical support. The Database Engineer is also responsible for managing, analyzing, testing, and providing improvement recommendations for all database issues encountered. This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting database infrastructure solutions, applying industry-accepted best practices to ensure high availability for our hospital customers. Education: Required: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, B. Tech, or equivalent work experience Preferred: Experience: Required: Minimum of 7+ years experience with implementing or supporting large-scale IT operations Minimum of 7+ years supporting database structure, configuration and instillation Excellent communication skills on all levels; verbal, written and presentation One year of relevant experience across multiple technical disciplines, in design, engineering, implementation and support technology streams Knowledge of ITIL Processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management) Preferred: Advanced proficiency in major relational database languages and applications such as Microsoft SQL Server, MYSQL, Oracle and IBM DB2 Advanced proficiency and understanding of software and hardware licensing and support/maintenance agreements ITIL Certification Ability to think critically, assess input, and develop creative solutions to identified or potential problems required Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration Required: Valid Drivers License Preferred: Professional certifications from Microsoft or Oracle Department Position Summary: The Database Engineer III will help manage all aspects of the enterprise database environments including comprehensive administration, maintenance, monitoring, and technical support. Managing, monitoring and maintain company databases Making requested changes, updates and modifications to database structure and data. Ensuring database integrity, stability and system availability. Maintaining database backup and recovery infrastructure Advanced proficiency and understanding of software and hardware licensing and support/maintenance agreements Works with Erlanger customers, management, contracted consultants, other support teams and systems vendors in evaluating, planning, designing and specifying system requirements for new and existing hardware and software solutions Provide status reports on systems and services Participate in On-Call schedule as needed. Other duties as assigned.
