A radiologic technologist employed by Erlanger Medical Center is responsible for the radiological direct and/or indirect care of the patient in the operating room.
A graduate of an ARRT approved radiologic technology program. Reference: https://www.arrt.org/Education/ (compliant with all continuing education mandates).
One year clinical experience.

ARRT certified and compliant with all continuing education mandates, or ARRT registry eligible- must complete within one year of hire.
BLS Required within 30 days of hire.
Department Position Summary:
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive radiology and technical support in the Operating Room appropriate to the age of the patient seen in the BEH Operating Room, TCTCH Operating Room, GI Lab, GI Lab TCTCH and Erlanger East Operating Room. The employee must know and understand the concepts of sterile techniques, patient position, timing, radiology safety as well as prioritize functions based on volume and activity. The employee must recognize emergent situations and act promptly and appropriately based on the patients needs.
The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the units policies and procedures. This is done through evaluation of direct supervisor by direct observation, in a skills lab, or discussed verbally or written. Competency can also be evaluated by a formal peer review process and/or by self assessment based on objective criteria that is reviewed and validated.
Clinical competency is evaluated annually using a variety of mechanisms. It focuses on the population-specific needs of the customers served by the staff member.
