Job Summary:
Initiates and supports patient and staff safety process improvement activities Responsible for multidisciplinary patient safety and quality committee work, in conjunction with Enterprise Quality. Identifies functions, processes and clinical practices which may potentially have a significant impact on patient care or outcomes and works to improve processes through use of LEAN or process improvement discipline(s). . Identifies, analyzes and interprets data for such improvement opportunity identification. Works closely with administration to develop, implement, and monitor evidence based best practices for the most effective, efficient patient care. Responsible for input and management of the databases for which TCTCH benchmarks quality, error prevention, patient safety and process improvement. (This includes gathering, entering, and analyzing that data and determining process improvement initiatives to improve process performance, efficiencies, and patient outcomes.) Responsible for coaching and mentoring use of Solutions for Patient Safety tools, concepts and practices for error reduction, for both patients and staff. Serves as a resource and subject matter expert for staff safety, and for error prevention across the peds/children�s service line, including East. Will serve as resident subject matter expert for JC EOC rounds, and will have the ability to coordinate with clinical staff and administration to resolve any issues upon occurrence.

Education:
Required: Bachelors degre in Nursing
Preferred: Masters degree in Nursing

Experience:
Required: Five years minimum hospital experience. Auditing and analytical experience. Management experience in a clinical setting. Causal Analysis experience - 3 years. Intermediate expertise using Excel. Comfortable performing Safety rounds. Savvy performing JC EOC rounds

Preferred: Above in addition to prior experience in a similar position.

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Tennessee.

The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.
