Job Summary:
The Patient Financial Services Government Programs and Billing Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Government Programs including the Billing staff. Responsible for keeping abreast on publications, bulletins and memorandums pertaining to Medicare Part A & B, Agency for Health Care Administration, Medicaid Program, ICD-9 &10 CM and CPT 4 Codes. Must achieve assigned monthly, and FYTD cash goals, and assigned Net A/R days at 53 days or less. Must maintain A/R > 60 to 15% or less of the Medicare financial class and Medicaid 60 day AR to 20% or less of total Medicaid A/R. Supports and contributes to maintaining Managed Care payers A/R >90 at 18% or less. Responsible for keeping current with all Governmental Federal regulations and requirements pertaining to Medicare, Medicaid as well as Medicare and Medicaid HMOs. Also ensuring the accurate and timely billing of all claims. The Manager must also meet the needs and assist where applicable for business office supervisors, peers, staff and Revenue Cycle Sr. Director. The Manager serves as a resource within the Revenue Cycle of Erlanger, and within Patient Financial Services.

Education:
Required: High school diploma required. AA or BS/BA preferred.

Experience Required:
Minimum of three years Business office job related experience in a Supervisory Management capacity. Must have a thorough understanding of all Governmental regulations and requirement pertaining to Medicare, Medicaid and Medicare and Medicaid HMOs. Must be able to understand benefits, co-pays, deductibles and adjustments. Extensive supervisory experience and management/ leadership skills are required, as well as previous business office experience.

Must achieve assigned monthly cash goals and maintain A/R > 60 to 15% or less of the Medicare financial class and Medicaid >60 day AR to 20% or less of total Medicaid A/R. Supports and contributes to maintaining Managed Care payers A/R >90 at 18% or less. Responsible for keeping current with all Governmental Federal regulations and requirements pertaining to Medicare, Medicaid as well as Medicare and Medicaid HMOs. The Manager assists as assigned on any specific projects deemed necessary by the Sr. Director, Revenue Cycle. He/she is responsible for resolution of accounts greater than $10,000, Medicare Quarterly Credit Balance report, resolution of Medicare claims and issues, and the 201 report. The Manager must provide timely education and training to department regarding current issues and changes in Federal Regulations in Medicare, Medicaid Medicare HMO and Medicaid HMO and the impact on reimbursements. Daily supervises staff, monitors and counsels staff on performance when not meeting weekly goals or assignments. Completes annual performance evaluations timely. Ensures that all staff are upholding and adhering to all departmental polices i.e.; dress code, tardy and absenteeism. The Manager will inform the Sr. Director timely on any and all departmental, divisional and employee issues that arise. Performs other duties as assigned. The Manager will conduct his/herselve in a professional manner, extend appropriate customer service relations, attend training and workshops as deemed necessary and endeavor to support the goals and objectives as outlined by the department and organization.
