Job Summary: The RN, Surgical Services Learning/Development Coordinator for BEH Surgical Services will have direct oversight in regards to staff development, competency, and retention, along with clinical information technology maintenance and regulatory compliances adherence to ensure, licensures, certifications, policies and procedures are up to date and in serviced to staff. The oversight of this program encompasses approximately 239 budgeted FTEs with varying levels of clinical education, in the following departments for Pre-op, Surgery, Post-op, Surgery, Surgery first assistants, Miller eye surgery, Miller eye nursing GI department, Anesthesia services, Central Sterile, Surgery Support, and Surgery SIS The RN, Surgical Services Learning/Development Coordinator will directly supervise the Surgical Services Accreditation/Safety Specialists and the Central Sterile QA coordinator for the oversight and program integrity for staff orientation, record retention and competencies and will work in conjunction with the RN, Surgical Services Accreditation/Safety Specialists Coordinator to maintain the highest standard of patient care. This position will be responsible for the maintenance of perioperative software related to procedure supply groupings, clinical electronic documentation and physician preference cards for the EHS system. The Preoperative Clinical Program coordinator will maintain an electronic historical record of staffs competencies, educational opportunities, licensures and certifications. Uses strategic planning process, by consulting with HR education representatives and preoperative management staff. This position will have 24-7 responsibility for clinical documentation issues through portable communication to be contacted in need or issues.
 
Education:

Required:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with BSN

Preferred:
Masters in Nursing or Masters in a related field.

Experience:
Required:
Minimum 3-5 years Operating Room experience (preferably scrub and circulating experience) Prefer Operating Room leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Team leader positions or equivalent
Proficient in the following information technology systems: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook,
Preferred:
Previous management experience

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required:
Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee
Current BLS CNOR Certification
